To whom it may concern,

I am not 100% sure, but it seems like there are a bunch of shows missing. For example, The Big Wu, I know that there were a great deal more than 38 shows last week. Are there other bands where shows have been cut out? Maybe someone can explain to me. I would definitely appreciate it.

Thanks,
Batso

They are working on importing all of the shows to the new archive format right now. Nothing has been lost!

While we are on the subject of the new format, once the archive went read-write again I corrected a mistake I made on this recording:

http://www.archive.org/details/mss2006-05-06.flac16

The song "5" had thrown off the metadata for the lossy versions because the importer at least on the old version never picked up songs whose names were numbers. It was relatively easy to figure out how to fix on the new system. One thing I noticed though as when I got the individual songs renamed, it did not fix the names in the new built in streaming player.

Still, the built-in streaming player is awesome, many thanks! Noticed there was no spotlight show right now on the main page. If that feature is coming back and you need a suggestion for a Spotlight show this would be a good one IMO. A founding member's final show in a band that has been touring for 10 years and is just now getting some long overdue recognition (their first Bonnaroo appearance will be this summer). I don't think they've ever had a spotlight or a staff pick though. ;)

Good point Joel - to fix the tags on the lossy files, it's a 2 step process.

1. Remove derivatives, so check the box on the edit details page to disallow them.
2. Once they are gone, uncheck this box to allow them again, and they will get created with the correct tags (assuming you fixed the names beforehand).

It'll probably take a few hours for step 2 to finish.

I know what yer thinking here. I was thinking the same thing.
What happened to all the 311 shows?
But I looked the new addressing http://www.archive.org/details/ and there they were.
But this new formate does make it harder.
I'm hoping with the updates they make more uses of magnet links.
Happy hunting
